Question (seller)- "Do I have to clean the house before closing?"
Answer - Usually the contract itself will specify that the house be left in good order. Common courtesy would be to vacuum, clean the toilets and sinks. Take any garbage bags to the curb for removal. Remove any debris from the yard and mow the lawn if needed. Remember that buyers are excited to be buying the property, and when they close, get the keys, and walk into their new home for the first time...well, you understand.
Question (buyer)- "Will they take the appliances, ceiling fans or curtains?"
Answer - Appliances are usually included as stated in the contract. Ceiling fans are attached as a fixture, therefore they stay with the home. A good rule of thumb is once it is attached, it stays. Everything can be negotiated.
Question (buyer) "What will taxes be on the property?"
Answer - I don't know! Always seek the advice of an accountant, attorney and contact local agencies to determine taxes, land use, zoning or building.
